May 28th

So, I just had a moment of sadness when I realized that May is almost over. I have been working so hard on my Page A Day idea & it has been so fun (yes, I will do it again next year). It has forced me to be creative every day & being creative makes me happy. It has also been a great way to be sure I scrap every day. I see myself as the keeper of the family memories (or the recorder I guess) and the idea of "keeping up" with scrapbooking doesn't exist in my world. So this month has been a great way to get some good memories down on paper.

Because I am feeling this bit of sadness that my month is almost over, I am posting two pages that I created today. Both of them include my beautiful girl. Hope you enjoy them.

I'm still working on an idea for June (don't know if it will rhyme or not but it will be fun & creative)!

May 1st

Here is the first page on my crazy journey of A Page A Day In The Month Of May! I created this page with a picture my Aunt took of my Mom on her birthday a few months ago. I converted this picture to black and white to make it more subtle.

Tomorrow Is May

I'm ready for A Page A Day In The Month Of May (well, as ready as I'm going to be). I have numerous pictures printed, new paper stacked on my desk, and enough adhesive to last at least the first two weeks. I am going to try my best to post my layouts every day but to be perfectly honest, life sometimes gets complicated. So I appologize in advance if I have to post two in one day because I fell asleep before I could post that day's layout! Check back often & join me on my crazy adventure of creating one scrapbook page every day in the month of May!

New Scrapbook Completed!

I finally got some scrapbooking done this Spring Break. This album is from a beach trip the kids and I took with my best friend back in 2007. Better late than never!

Spring Break projects

This is what's on my kitchen table right now. An album of Lexi. I use to keep all her school pictures, one behind the other, in a frame. Not any more! I found this adorable, and very Lexi looking paper line from Heidi Grace. Now her pictures will all be in one album. After I finish her's I will work on one for Spencer. His will be a little easier because he has less pictures (not cuz I like him less, just cuz he's younger).

I did have a chance last weekend to finish this project. I gave an old cork board a new look & hung it in my craft room. The fabric I put over the new cork is also from Heidi Grace. I just love her stuff!
So, Spencer's room is part way done and our room is in process (I truly think it will always be in process).

New Scrapbook Pages Done!

My Love page doesn't even have a picture & it's ok. There are no rules when it comes to scrapbooking. I had a story to tell but no pictures to go with it. I felt the story was important enough to tell even without pictures!
I took this picture a few weeks ago at the beach. This was the only good weather day we had & I caught Spencer in a rare walking moment!

Both my kids love to climb the trees at my parents house. This was taken last November. He's wearing his shirt from Africa. When he first got it he said it made him run faster. But who knows, maybe it also makes him climb trees higher.

This picture was from the same beach trip a few weeks ago. I had never seen snow on the beach, until this day! What a beautiful thing. There wasn't much but it was enough to make me happy. And G was happy when we got out of the snow on the pass coming home!

Beach Trip Scrapbook

Just a few of the layouts I did from our beach trip last weekend. I completed the album while we were there. Printed the pictures the day we got home & bam, I'm done! Quick, easy & a great scrapbook of our weekend.

The Reason For My Blog

So, in reality the real reason I decided to start a blog is to have a place to share my scrapbook & paper crafting projects. So I guess I better get started. Here are some of my latest & greatest projects, and some old ones I really want to share.

I made this layout about a year ago using a picture I took of the kids & Isabella back in 2006. I love this picture and have actually scrapped it more than once.

I love the genuine smile Spencer has in this picture. So many times he gives me a fake smile when I take pictures of him. But this one really captures the real Spencer. I think Lexi may have been helping me out by tickling him (thanks Sis).

For Mother's Day this year I decided I was going to hike to the top of Multnomah Falls, no matter who wanted to go with me. I was even willing to go by myself if I had to. But I was lucky, all four of us went together and had a great time.

More beach pictures from 2006. Man, I take a lot of beach pictures (if you haven't noticed, you will don't worry). I LOVE the beach!

Spencer played Rookie Ball this year. He had enough of t-ball last year & wanted to play where one team wins and one team loses. I think I have a little competitor on my hands!
Well, I'm off to create some more stuff to share. Thanks for checking in!

Am I really blogging?

OK, so I have tinkered with the thought of starting a blog for a while now but I always wondered why in the heck should I? Who's gonna read it? Who's gonna even know it's here? Who's really gonna care if I take the time to do this or not? Is this another one of those things I start and spend a ton of time on for a few weeks, then I forget I even have it?
Who knows? But I am going to give it a go & see what becomes of it. Why not?

So while I am beginning to learn this blog process please be patient with me. I plan to post pix of my family & my latest scrapbooking projects & other things that interest me. But until I get this all figured out, it may be a bit boring. I'll learn & it will get better, I promise!
