Summer Is Here

i have been a horrible blogger. life just seems to take over my creative list of things to do. this summer i have already taken tons of great pictures & have even played with a few in my "spare time" oh i mean time when i should be doing something else:) here are a few of my favorites so far. don't worry there are many more to come!

Catching up on the Page A Day, no excuses (too busy to give excuses)! Can't wait for summer weather & school to get out!

A Busy Month

May is flying by & we have been so busy I have not had time to hold up my end of the bargain, A Page A Day in the Month of May. Between field trips, birthday parties, family events, Lacrosse games & just life in general, time has just been slipping away from me. Here are a few layouts from my stash to make up for the last couple days.

Amother Old Picture

This picture was taken at the park at the beach. The kids use to love going there, actually Spencer still does. Lexi is kind of over the whole going to the park thing. Just look at those holes in Spencer's jeans! This picture may be old but somethings never change, he still has holes in his jeans:)

Wow my baby has sure grown up! I just love looking at these old pictures. This one is Lexi & her Papa at the beach!

Half Way

Wow I can't believe May is already half way over already. Time is just flying by. Before you know it the kiddos will be out of school and hanging out at the pool in the sunshine (Ok I really can't wait for that)!

A Different Size

When I started scrapbooking almost 14 years ago, I worked only with 8 1/2x11. When 12x12 became popular I loved it because it gave me more room to play! But it's always nice to go back to an old favorite! I might have to do more 8 1/2x11 layouts, I like them!

Another Flower

But, this one is out of fabric! Cool hu? Oh the possibilities are just sprinting through my head! Gotta go play with these. Stay tuned, they will be showing up on layouts to come!

I love this picture of me & Spencer taken at the beach last summer. We are both total beach bums (and so is Lexi). His footloose & fancy free attitude fits in perfectly at the beach.
I got some more pictures in the mail the other day so I'm off to create more fun to share with you from my stash (I really wish my stash wasn't so large, then maybe I could justify buying some of the cute new stuff showing up in the stores now:)

Happy Mom's Day!

Life is slowly getting back to normal for me. G is back from Arizona! He was only gone for 6 days but the kiddos & I miss him and all he does around the house when he's gone. Since he works so hard when he's there he's exhausted so we are keeping Mom's Day quiet this year. No hike like we usually do, just being together that's all I want. That & maybe a good bbq dinner;)

Busy day for us here! Spencer's class went on a field trip to Phillip Foster Farm & they learned a lot about pioneer life. And one of the benefits to being a stay at home Mom, I got to go with them! It did sprinkle a little & it was really cold but we didn't have the horrible downpours that I thought were going to happen, thank goodness! Now we are home & I'm slowly warming up while picking up the house so my parents can come over for dinner (I missed them while they were in sunny Hawaii)!

It's Monday...

and i'm feeling like it's really a yucky Monday! It's raining, the house is a mess & G left for AZ today. Lucky him gets to go toward the sun & i'm stuck in the rain:( But, here's my layout for Page A Day:

The one good thing about G being gone is i can spend some extra time in the evenings scrapbooking & that makes me feel happy! Maybe i can knock out some more of my goal of 100 pages with my stash (unless i get more fabric & burn more flowers). I'll keep you posted on how that's going!

National Scrapbooking Day

Happy National Scrapbooking Day! I am going to spend as much time as I can today on my favorite hobby. But I do have a busy family so I can't spend the entire day in my craft room. Plus, my kiddo is now on Twitter so she wants the computer all day (not gonna happen).
Today is also May first which means it is the first day of A Page A Day In The Month Of May #2! So here's my page for today:

When I saw Lexi's soda can sitting on the table like this I almost freaked (ok, maybe I freaked a little)! I was so worried about the can falling & soda going everywhere. Then I stopped & really looked & then of course grabbed the camera! It's really actually cool. Never knew a can would do that!

Did you know that I am crazy about flowers? If you have seen my blog at all in the past month you already knew that! Here's my newest found love! I am going to have fabric flowers all over the house before you know it! You can wear them in your hair, around your wrist, clipped to your shirt, on a belt... endless possibilities & I need more fabric to make some more!

Yes, I finally saw Avatar & loved it! It would have been so amazing in the theaters but it was still really great!I'm still amazed that I stayed awake (it did help that Spencer & I started it at 11 am;)

We have all turned into huge Blazer fans this year. Spencer started watching because he played basketball this year. G has always liked watching. Now that I know who the players are, I even got into it. And Lexi watches on occasion because she thinks Rudy is cute (She's gonna kill me for writing that:)

Lexi's band played today in the Canby Band Festival & they did awesome! They received the highest scores the school has ever received. It was fun to get to watch them & see their improvement!

We thought a thunderstorm might ruin this lacrosse game but the weather actually held out.Uncle Brandon, Aunt Jenine & little Cousin Erik got to come watch since we played just down the street from their house! Our boys lost but played with big hearts!

No on to May News! Last year I started A Page A Day In The Month Of May & I'm doin it again! I will share with you at least one scrapbook page every day in May. The difference is this year I'm doing all the pages using my stash (stuff I already have). Last year I bought everything for the pages right before May. But last year I had a paying job. This year I am working with what I have (and I really have a lot). Actually my goal is to complete 100 pages using just my stash but that's a story for another day! So start looking on May 1st for the 2010 Page A Day In The Month Of May! And by the way May 1st is National Scrapbooking Day so you know where I'll be;)
